Accordion Engagement Announcements
About This Project
The Accordion Engagement Announcement is a lovely accordion fold card that features black and white photos of you and your beau. It's easy to follow - you only need a photocopier or computer/printer, and this free project sheet.

Here's what you need:
How To Make This Project
1. Select three black and white photos. We used a digital camera to take three photos in black and white mode. You can also photocopy color photos.
2. Using a photo program such as PhotoShop, crop and shrink each photo to 2 x 2 inches. If using a photocopier, reduce each photo to 2 x 2 inches. Cut out the photos and put aside.
3. Next, decide on the text of your announcement. For our sample, we used "We are pleased to announce", "Sam and Dianne are engaged!" and "A wedding is being planned for July 2003. More details to come." Layout the text in a word processing or drawing program within a 2 x 2 inch box. Print and trim.
4. From the 11 x 14 sheet of handmade Cotton and Petal handmade paper, trim to 3 1/4 x 13 inches. Fold in half, and then into quarters. Fold up in an accordion.
5. Trim handmade Berry paper into four squares of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches. Apply white glue to back of each square, center one on each panel of accordion and press in place. Allow to dry under weight to prevent from warping.
6. Using clear photo corners, affix photos on center of first three squares of book. Affix the announcement on the last square.
7. Embellish front as desired. We used a small strip of flower embroidery.
Send these special announcements in a small envelope to surprise and delight your friends and family. An A2 envelope does not require additional postage and will fit the announcement. The piece is especially lovely in a translucent vellum A2 envelope.
