With Earth Day coming up this Sunday, we are so happy to see so many people getting into the eco-friendly spirit, including mom Mackenzie over on the popular blog The Centsible Family. She's planning an eco-friendly celebration for her daughter's birthday on Earth Day, and was happy to post a review of Botanical PaperWorks' plantable birthday invitations, plantable confetti, and plantable favors - and why they're a great idea for any celebration.

We love a good party, and it looks like this one's going to be great! We also love that her guests will be able to plant so many things that would usually just end up in the trash.

Go ahead, click on over to read Mackenzie's full review, and see why she too thinks the Botanical PaperWorks is perfect for Earth Day or any day!

Celebrate Earth Day With Plantable Earth Day Cards April 13, 2012

It's hard to believe that next weekend, April 22, is already Earth Day. Which means it's almost the end of April already - where does time go?! This month has just flown by.

With Earth Day in mind, we thought we'd post a little reminder about some Plantable Earth Day cards and favors. What better way to send an eco-friendly greeting, than one that will also give the gift of flowers, too?

I think the Plantable Earth Day Favor might just be our favourite. At less than a dollar each, they're really affordable, and they can be customized with your own personal message too! Great for handing out at parties, birthdays, or to classmates and friends.

And it's not too late to order, either! Order by the end of the day Tuesday, select express shipping during checkout, and we'll do our very best to make sure it arrives before the Earth Day weekend.

Growing Tomato Seed Paper: Week 11 April 11, 2012

A few weeks ago, we showed you the first photo of some growing tomato seed paper that's currently in our Botanical PaperWorks store. Just in case you missed it, here's what they looked like then, 8 weeks after being planted.

There were so many little plants, we transplanted all of them into a more spacious home in bigger pots. Even the tiniest of sprouts got moved. Well, it looks like these guys liked what we did, take a look at them now! 11 weeks of water and sunlight, and they're almost ready to go into the garden. We just need some warmer weather, and we'll do just that.

And those little sprouts? Look how strong they are, too! A little smaller, but it's only because they took their time in making an appearance. Quality takes time, you know.

We're currently up to about 10 plants from a small 3" x 3" piece of seed paper, so we hope everyone here likes tomatoes!

Plantable Cards on Send More Mail March 28, 2012

We love sending mail. It's why we're sending out cards every week for 52 Weeks of Mail, and why we sent some seed paper cards to the popular blog Send More Mail. If you've never been to this blog before, you should definitely take a look - it's full of beautiful stationery from around the world, as well as almost daily photos of (purchaseable, gorgeous) vintage stamps.

And it looks like our plantable cards made a good impression, too! Take a look at this beautiful photo they posted of our Cupcake Plantable Card and Stacked Easter Eggs Plantable Happy Easter Card!

Want to receive a plantable card of your own? (The secret's out, we even include an extra seed card for you to send along to a friend, too). All you need to do is like us on the Botanical PaperWorks Facebook page, and send your mailing address to info@botanicalpaperworks.com. That's it! It's totally free - and no obligations for anything else. Each week we draw one or two names.

We've already shown you what happens when you plant carrot seed paper (carrot seed paper is used to make the plantable menu cards that are part of our plantable wedding collections). Today we thought we'd show you the tomato plants we have growing from a another batch of our seed paper - this batch was made for an order of custom promotional items.

Pretty fun, hey? We're always planting our paper in everyday conditions to make sure you can plant it just as easily.

We'll keep you posted on how they continue to grow. Right now, they're about 8 weeks old, and look like they're just about ready to split into individual pots. We'll have to do that soon.

Hmm, maybe we should grow some basil seed paper from our Plantable Yummy Cards Set, and make a Caprese Salad when they both fully grow!

Hello, Tangerine Tango! March 5, 2012

Tangerine Tango is Pantone's Color of the Year, and we couldn't be happier. We LOVE orange over here (especially our company president Heidi). It's fun, vibrant, and whether used as a main or accent color, it easily brightens up any event.

Sooooo, in honor of this wonderful decision by Pantone, we've created a brand new Tangerine Seed Paper!

In addition to sheets, this color is available in our heart shaped plantable confetti, five petal plantable confetti, as well as all of our plantable favours as well.
