Mother's Day is just around the corner on May 13, and I don't know about you - but I don't want to be leaving my shopping until the last minute. To help you avoid the last minute rush too, we thought we'd point you in the direction of a few seed paper gift ideas that are great for mom on Mother's Day (or any day!).

You can't go wrong with a plantable Mother's Day card - and we've just added 6 new plantable card designs to our selection. From the pun-filled I Love You Berry Much Plantable Card, to the simple I Love You Plantable Card, not only will mom appreciate your thoughtful message inside, but she's sure to appreciate the flowers it will grow too. And with spring officially here, she'll be able to plant the seed paper right away!

If your mom is the note-taking kind (like so many are), why not consider getting her a pack of plantable pocket notebooks? Easily one of my favorite plantable things, these little notebooks are a great Mother's Day gift idea. They come in a pack of three, and are perfectly pocket-sized. So not only are they beautiful AND plantable, but there's a few of them! So keeping one on hand almost anywhere is really easy and convenient. With so many designs to choose from, you're sure to see at least one that's perfect for your mom.

If mom needs a little more writing space, maybe for spring garden planning or just diarizing her day-to-day, plantable journals are a wonderful Mother's Day gift idea. Once she's done with the journal, she can plant the cover. The growing wildflowers it grows will be a lovely reminder of your thoughtful gift!

Go ahead, take a look around! With so many plantable stationery items to choose from, we'll sure you'll find that perfect Mother's Day gift that your mom is going to love.

Top o' the mornin' to you! We're celebrating an extra-green St.Patrick's Day! March 14, 2012

St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and maybe you're looking for some ideas for celebrating this Irish in you.

Sure, there's the usual green beer or shamrock shake. But how about doing something really green this year? Something that helps our environment. The kind of green that goes beyond beverages and makes a difference for the planet.

We're all about being green here at Botanical PaperWorks so today we'll share some ways to have a very green St. Patrick's Day:

1) As Spring approaches and the weather is warming up, how about going outside for an hour and picking up garbage? You'll get some fresh air while sprucing up the neighborhood.

2) Make it a green and eco St. Patrick's Day by going through your bathroom cleaning supplies and responsibly disposing of the toxic junk. Replace it with a natural solution of baking soda and water. Mix both into a paste and use to scrub the bathtub and sink. No harmful chemicals for you or your loved ones to breathe.

3) Add some purifying green to your office or home with a few plants. NASA has recommended these houseplants as excellent air purifiers: Boston fern, English ivy, Weeping fig and Rubber plant. Better air is better for our body, plus the green plants are great as a decorating accent.

What are your ideas for having a green St. Patrick's Day? Please post them and we'll share them in a future post.

Thank You! December 30, 2011

2011 has been an amazing year, and we owe it all to you.

As the year winds down, and a new one is about to begin, we took a few moments this week to stop and think of all the wonderful things we appreciate about all of you. Here's just a few things we can't get enough of:

Your enthusiasm
From new products, to crafts, and even when we post silly things like a pug in a jug - we LOVE hearing from you, and what you think.

Your stories
We will never tire of hearing brides sharing wedding day stories, or how happy they were to see their plantable invitations, favors and other seed paper wedding pieces arrive at their door. Or the people that go out of their way to email us, and tell us just how much their plantable favors were appreciated at other events such as memorials or showers. Keep them coming, they make our day!

Your photos
You people are SO creative with your seed paper! Wow. You never cease to amaze us. Everything from kids books to dresses, to great ways to display favors and confetti, we just can't get enough of these great photos that you take the time to share.

Your likes, re-tweets, follows, pins and posts
Oh, how we love a like...and a re-tweet...and a blog post... All of these things really go a long way to show that we're doing the right thing here. In a world that seems to be run by social media, your support out there on your blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds and Pinboards mean so much.

Your support
Most of all, we appreciate your support, and we just can't thank you enough for that.

This company was started by a woman and her mom, because of their love for all things paper. We're passionate about what we do, but have grown because of you.

We can't even begin to tell you how excited we are for 2012, and how much we look forward to sharing it all with you.

Happy New Year from all of us at Botanical PaperWorks!

Happy Halloween! October 31, 2011

Happy Halloween from Botanical PaperWorks!

As promised on Friday, we have a very special blog post for you today! We here at Botanical PaperWorks thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite (and most embarrassing) Halloween costumes and memories from over the years. Take a look!

Toni
Toni is dressed in her all-time favorite costume, Tinkerbell! Self-described as "obsessed with Peter Pan as a child", she and her siblings are ready to head out for trick-or-treating!

Tyne
This is me, Tyne, dressed as a clown for a cold Winnipeg Halloween night. A really embarrassing costume, but it doesn't count when you're 3, right? Of course, living in Winnipeg, a staple under all costumes is a snowsuit and winter boots to stay warm!

Deanna
Here we have Deanna at age 3, in a photo that appeared in a local newspaper. Deanna's parents grew these huge pumpkins in their backyard!

Robyn
Every year in Winnipeg, there is an organized Zombie Walk, where hundreds of people dress up as zombies and shuffle around our streets. Creepy! Here's Robyn (one of the lovely voices you talk to from our Customer Care department) ready for her walking dead moment at the Zombie Walk!

Gomez
Kristen was too shy to show a picture of her own costume, so she brought a photo of her super cute dog Gomez, dressed as a pirate. Yarrr!

Bryce
Bryce channeled his cartoon character favorite, Inspector Gadget! Bryce and his wife Nicky (as Penny) went to a Halloween party as this fun mystery-solving duo. Awesome headpiece! You may remember Bryce's funny pug Porkchop from when she made her appearance on the blog this summer.

Happy trick-or-treating!

Happy Birthday Heidi! September 9, 2011

It was a special week here at Botanical PaperWorks, as our president Heidi celebrated a rather monumental birthday (we're not about to share exactly which birthday on here anytime soon though!). And of course, a significant birthday like this requires a significant celebration!

With that in mind, a few of us here decided to surprise Heidi on her special day by filling her office floor with about 400 balloons, and replacing her office chair with a walker.

She was such a good sport. We caught her surprise as she walked into her office in the morning, and she was even willing to pose with her new walking aid.

With Heidi's birthday in mind, we thought it was time to update our Green Gifts Guide for the upcoming fall season. It's now full of brand-new suggestions for eco-friendly, plantable paper gifts that people are sure to love.

Have a great weekend!
