Friends in the Press February 28, 2012
When the January/Feruary 2012 issue of Gifts and Tablewares arrived in the Botanical PaperWorks mailbox, we were excited to see friend and customer Suzanne Davis on the cover. Suzanne owns Notables Stationers Inc. in Edmonton, AB and recently celebrated 25 years of success in independent stationery retailing.
Gifts and Tablewares interviewed Suzanne for their "Retail Intelligence" section on page 24. In the interview, she describes her store in one word ("Classic"), her leadship style ("Hands-on") and talks about how she uses social media for retail success.

Congratulations Suzanne and your team on this achievement and on 25 years of retail excellence! From all of us at Botanical PaperWorks.
Seed Paper Promotions Taking the PPPC by Storm February 23, 2012
About a month ago, Heidi, Toni and myself (Amber) took a trip to Toronto, Canada to attend the PPPC National Convention for the very first time. Here we are, so smiley!

What's the PPPC you ask? Well, it's the Promotional Products Professionals of Canada - an organization built on networks of people trying to find the best promotional solutions out there for companies of all shapes and sizes. And at the end of 2011, Botanical PaperWorks became brand new members. It's been a lot of fun meeting so many new people, and introducing them to seed paper for the first time. The reaction people have when they find out you can plant the paper will never get old for us. Ever.
Anyway, we had a blast while we were in Toronto - meeting new people, seeing so many other great and creative ideas, and…being told we had the BEST BOOTH AT THE WHOLE SHOW!
Excuse me, I'm still pretty excited about it. We even got a trophy! Here's our company president Heidi accepting the award, and a nice clear shot of the beautiful award as well.

Here's a few photos of what got us the award…with the trophy…our booth!

If you want to do an eco-friendly promotion too, take a look at our seed paper promotions for some great ideas to fit any budget. And with Earth Day under two months away, why not check out our brand new Love The Earth seed paper promotion collection?
Botanical PaperWorks' Stationery Chosen for Trend Display February 20, 2012

Recently, our Tranquil Garden Pocket Notebooks were selected for the 2012 Stationery & Decor Trend Display. The little notebooks were part of a white and ivory presentation within the larger display which showcased products by color trend. And as with all of the products from Botanical PaperWorks, the covers of the Tranquil Garden Pocket Notebooks are printed on plantable seed paper. When the seed paper is planted in soil, it will grow flowers.
Here's a photo of the seed paper notebooks in the display:

We also loved the office products like stamps, pens and file folders that the curators included in the display.
Last-minute DIY Valentine's Day Craft Idea February 14, 2012
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
If you're looking for a fun little last-minute Valentine's Day DIY project, you've come to the right place. We just put together an incredibly easy Valentine's Day craft idea that will add a splash of fun to your family's next meal. Kids will love how special it makes dinner!

We used a hot pink seed paper heart from our Plantable Heart Note Favor, wrote the name of someone special on it, and positioned it in between fork tines as an eco-friendly plantable place card. Sprinkled on the table is plantable confetti as well, for an added touch of Valentine's Day whimsy.
If you don't have plantable paper on hand, basic construction paper will also do the trick, and cutting out a heart doesn't take long at all.
Although you may not need place cards if you have a romantic dinner for two planned, be creative! Write a romantic little love note or song quote on the heart instead of a name.
Enjoy!

Seed Paper Packaging For SolarMill February 10, 2012
I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I love how creative our clients are when they use plantable paper. Today I wanted to show you what our good friends at SolarMill have done.
This environmentally conscious company hand crafts bamboo cutting boards in a 100% solar-powered facility. Not only are their products sustainable, but their eco-friendly packaging is seed paper embedded with herb seeds! Great idea, huh? Not only are you getting a beautiful limited-edition cutting board, but you're getting an herb garden at the same time. Take a look, these would make a great addition to any kitchen.

Want one? I know I do. Lucky for us, SolarMill sells them on Amazon! Check out the great reviews they're getting already. Way to go guys!
Botanical PaperWorks is on Pinterest! February 7, 2012
Just like a lot of you (and most of the world, it seems), we are addicted to Pinterest. A website that acts as a virtual pinboard. It's a great resource for sharing, planning, and being inspired by all the great ideas out there.
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to decorate a special Valentine's Day plate with some Cherry Tomato Hearts (who THINKS of these things?!), or scour other pinboards for more Desk Decoration and wedding ideas. We love it. We love it all. And we can't stop pinning!

And to help YOU pin seed paper inspirations to your boards, we've added a convenient little "Pin It on Pinterest" link to our products as well. Check it out!

To join in the fun and follow our pinboards, just go to Pinterest.com/seedpaper.
Free Desktop Background for Valentine's Day February 3, 2012
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we thought that a free desktop background was more than a little overdue.
So today, we present you with a pair of adorable oranges in an array of sizes for any screen. This little couple is our personal favorite from the brand new Fruit Friends Plantable Cards Set. Look at that single little tooth! Gets me every time.

Filled with friendly puns, this set is so fun for classroom exchanges. And because these plantable cards are made entirely from seed paper, they're also a great way to teach kids about being eco-friendly too.
If the fruit friends aren't your thing, we also have the Robot Friends Plantable Cards Set, as well as many others to choose from in our growing selection of plantable Valentine's Day cards.
New Seed Paper Sale Items Page February 1, 2012
We're running out of shelf space here at Botanical PaperWorks' Headquarters, and because of that, you're about to score some great deals!
As of today, we now have a brand new page devoted to seed paper sale items.
Go take a look for yourself. It's packed with a whole bunch of plantable journals and plantable pocket notebooks right now. They're not factory rejects either - you can expect to see the great quality you're used to.
But if you like something, don't wait too long - once these items are snapped up, that's it!
