Holiday Recipe Peppermint Bark

Christmas Peppermint Bark Recipe

As part of our 12 Weeks of Christmas giveaway this year, we asked you to let us know your favorite holiday recipes. We were thrilled at all the responses that came in – thank you! As we were reading through a few, we came across one entry from Lucas who submitted Peppermint Bark. Not ever having tried it, we were intrigued. We had to test it out for ourselves to see just how good it actually is. I can pleasantly tell you – it’s AMAZING. And never mind the delicious taste, it was also incredibly easy to make! Just in case you too have never tried this amazing holiday treat, here is the recipe to try at home.

Peppermint Bark

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz white chocolate
  • 12 oz dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy cane pieces. Either buy pre-crushed, or take about 6 large candy canes in a plastic bag and with a small hammer or mallet crush the candy canes.

Instructions:

  1. Start by lining a cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper.
  2. Add the dark chocolate to a microwave safe bowl and microwave for one minute. Stir chocolate, if not melted keep microwaving it and stirring it at 15 second intervals.
  3. Once melted, pour over top of your lined cookie sheet. Use a spatula to spread it evenly over the surface. Shaking and tapping the sheet will also help to flatten the chocolate layer.
  4. Put cookie sheet in fridge for 10 minutes.
  5. Repeat the above steps with the white chocolate and pour overtop of the, now hardened, dark chocolate layer. Make sure to also evenly spread this top layer.
  6. Before putting it in the fridge to cool, shake or dust your crushed candy cane mixture overtop of the white chocolate layer. We also added some snowflake sprinkles for something a little extra.
  7. Put it in the fridge for another 10 minutes to cool.
  8. Once cooled, remove hardened Peppermint bark from the sheet and paper and break into treat size pieces.
  9. Enjoy!
