Almost time to plant those carrot seed plantable paper bookmarks

If you were lucky enough to receive one of these plantable bookmarks from Peak of the Market this past winter, it's almost time to plant them! The weather here in Southern Manitoba has been unseasonably warm and we're all hoping to get a jump start on gardening this year (remember last year's disappointing summer?).

As I get ready to put on my gardening gloves, one of my favorite sources of gardening information is Hole's, the garden business started by author and gardener Lois Hole.

Lee Valley is also a favorite gardening destination. I'm happy to say that their catalog is available online here, which if you've been reading my eco-tips on Facebook, you'll know how much we support online catalogs instead of hard-copy, tree-consuming copies.
Do you garden? Is there a must-have plant that you grow each year? Mine is tomatoes; nothing says summer more than a toasted tomato sandwich made with fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes and a sprinkling of sea salt. Yum!
