Links and Helpful Resources
Planning a wedding or special party is a special undertaking - it's important to fulfill the desires of the guest(s) of honor (after all, it's their special day!) while also making a memorable event for the guests. Here are some resources that can help you as you plan, organize and execute the big event! As you prepare, check out Botanical PaperWorks' eco wedding invitations and eco-favors.
*Hello Friends - I'm adding links all the time, so if you'd like to be included, send me a note [no link farm requests please; only vendors that I actually use and love].
Recommended Vendors
We have personal experience with the following vendors - use them and they will take care of you in the best way possible. Many of our recommended vendors use natural, unbleached, organic or sustainable raw materials in their products. Tell them "Botanical PaperWorks" sent you to spread the love!
MJAnne Couture - Silky smooth, flowy, stylish yoga and active wear, comfy skirts and tops, cruise wear and more, made with the finest cotton and bamboo fabrics. Designed by the savvy Andreanne Dandeneau.
Tiber River Naturals - Handmade skincare products made with natural, yummy ingredients like fruits, vegetables, cold pressed oils, rice, ground almonds, and chocolate. No extracts or chemicals used here. If you're in Winnipeg, visit their Nail and Body Bar for the best pedicures and manicures, all with Tiber River-made products.
High Tea Bakery - How lucky are we that when our Xerox sales rep comes visiting, he often arrives with a box of treats from this Winnipeg specialty store (hey Jason - how about bringing us some cupcakes on your next visit?!). The treats are scrumptious and not-to-be missed.
Love Life, The Book - Taking this directly from author and artist Kal Barteski's website, "Love Life is a journey through art and poetry". You HAVE to check out the site and the book, for art and writings that will touch and uplift you both emotionally and spiritually.
Rag and Bone - Heidi's current journal is a Rag and Bone handbound book and she reports that the pleasure of putting fountain pen to paper is virtually indescribable. But if it had to be described, she would say that "the scritchy scratchy sound of my Waterman nib on the heavyweight cream paper stock makes me feel like Jane Austin, for that one glorious moment".
Party Planning Resources
These are the websites that we turn to when planning a party.
The Wedding Co. - A very useful and thoughtful Toronto-based resource for brides looking for local vendors. They even featured yours truly, Botanical PaperWorks, in an article about plantable favors called "Plant Some Love".
As long-time advertisers in Martha Stewart Weddings, we love what that company has done and continues to do for the wedding industry. Beautiful photography and well-written articles deliver the latest styles and etiquette to make your special day wonderful. Read also the new blog The Bridal Guide from the editors of Martha Stewart Weddings.
Especially for children's birthday parties, we love Kaboose.com's Birthdays & Parties section.
