A lot of fresh paper is used to male Valentine’s Day greeting cards. Annually, an estimated 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are made industry-wide. Instead of going the traditional route, save a few trees by trying this creative, personalized seed paper Valentine’s Vay fortune cookies craft.

We made them for Valentine’s Day but they make great DIY favors for weddings other parties. They are simple to make and have customized messages inside so they’ll work for all kinds of occasions.

They are also a fun activity for sustainability-themed fundraisers or in the classroom with kids since. We got our inspiration from this DIY craft from evermine but used eco-friendly seed paper so they would be plantable and zero waste.

Tip: When ordering seed paper for crafts like this one, you may wish to request paper that isn’t as thick as what is typically sold here at Botanical Paperworks. When ordering your paper, simply add a note to the special instructions box on the final step of the checkout process to request single-thick paper. This paper will fold and bend more easily than our traditional double-thick paper, which is more similar to card stock.
