As a business that specializes in advertising, design, and marketing, Monitor Creative wanted to send a promotion that wouldn't be thrown away after, as much of the branded marketing material they have received in the past was. In keeping with their goals to always be innovative, they decided to create a direct mail piece that featured a seed paper bee shape from Botanical PaperWorks. The bee was attached to a colorful card with a creative tagline that read, "We think you're the bee's knees and want to help your business grow."

They targeted approximately 100 marketing contacts at businesses that were handpicked to generate leads. These companies ranged from zoos to restaurants and construction companies to get a wide range of clientele.
After a few weeks, the team would be able follow up with personal emails or phone calls as well as send targeted social media posts. Because the piece was made of plantable seed paper, they could discuss with them how their seeds were growing to start a conversation and book face-to-face meetings with as many contacts as possible to discuss their marketing needs.
